Gay presidential candidate Chase Oliver joins Gaywaves as he prepares for the Libertarian Convention

There have been lesbian and gay candidates for president. While one, Angela Walker, made it to the Vice Presidential spot on the Green Party ticket in 2020, none have reached the top spot as a national party nominee for president of the United States.

 

 

That may change this weekend, as the Libertarian Party is holding their nominating convention in Washington, D.C., and will likey nominate a proudly out gay man, Chase Oliver-Libertarian to be their standard bearer.

 

 

Chase joins Gaywaves for a second time to share his experiences on the campaign trail and his moment -- what he calls the biggest moment of his life -- as he prepares for the convention.

ACLU of Ohio legal director Freda Levenson talks about the litigation to take down H.B. 68, the ban on gender affirming care in Ohio

Gaywaves is joined by Legal Director of the ACLU of Ohio Freda Levenson.  On March 26 the ACLU, led by Levenson, filed its legal challenge to H.B. 68, the ban on gender affirming care for minors, in Franklin County.

 

The suit, which is getting national attention, hopes to block the ban from taking effect, and then having it declared unconstitutional. Levenson breaks down the complaint, and talks about what we can expect going forward. This is a very thorough look at the litigation and is very helpful to those whom the law harms.
