Gaywaves talks to Cynthia Peeples about the Ohio Board of Education sending the anti-transgender resolution to committee

Cynthia Peeples, director of Honesty for Ohio Education, who has been one of the leading organizers against an anti-transgender resolution in the Ohio Board of Education returns to Gaywaves to talk about the latest developments.

 

Following 8 hours of testimony, the resolution was sent to the executive committee for more deliberation with a surprising 12-7 vote. This move probably kills it, giving our community, allies, and public education a political victory and a moral achievement.

Gaywaves is proud to be LGBTQ Ohio's most culturally competent and most complete Monkeypox information and coverage.

 

MetroHealth Pride Clinic Medical Director Dr. Mark McLoney makes his second Gaywaves appearance (his first was August 11) to update us on this pandemic that is striking, nearly exclusively, men who have sex with men. The primary focus of this segment is harm reduction, vaccines, and treatment. Vaccines are becoming increasingly available in the Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati areas, and Dr. McLoney shares what he sees regarding vaccine supply, efficacy and what to do if you think you were exposed or have symptoms.

 

Especially when combined with Gaywaves segments of July 28 with Dr. Laura Mintz, and Dr. McLoney's August 11, the Monkeypox adventure and the way through it become clearer.

As Fauci announces his retirement and promises to become an activist, long term survivor, former ACT UP Cleveland spokesperson and friend of Larry Kramer Gil Kudrin joins Gaywaves to share his personal perspective on Fauci and share his recollection and e-mail as to what Larry Kramer really thought of Fauci.
