Gaywaves is the longest continuously aired LGBTQ public affairs radio program in Ohio and probably beyond, having originally aired as Radio Lambda in the 1970s. The show's expanded format and pre-recorded interviews have given the opportunity to share parts of the show beyond NE Ohio. This podcast is the best of the recorded interviews with LGBTQ news makers and opinion shapers from all over the country. The interviewer is Eric Resnick, a premiere LGBT newspaper journalist formally with the now defunct Gay People's Chronicle. The podcast features newsworthy interviews with national LGBT political figures, activists, and community leaders.

America's corporations have found ways to cash in on LGBTQ Pride, so much so that during the month of June it is hard to miss the ubiquitous rainbow colors and special messages.
But do these corporations really care about LGBTQ lives, other than as a business opportunity?
GLAAD has been watching, and following trends, and has some concerns, as some of the most Pride signaling companies are also supporting politicians that do the LGBTQ community the most harm.
GLAAD's senior director of news and campaigns Barbara Simon joins Gaywaves for a frank discussion on this phenomenon, especially in our post-Substantive Due Process legal environment.

The U.S. Supreme Court has made it perfectly clear that substantive due process rights, which include the right to sex with someone of the same sex and marriage equality, are now under threat.
In this segment Gaywaves' own 'Supreme Court Whisperer' Shannon Minter discusses the reality of the threats, the state of the Court and the entire federal judiciary.
For nearly 30 years LGBTQ rights have expanded under a Court willing to recognize Substantive Due Process as a framework to guarantee reproductive rights, guarantee sexual privacy and advance equality. That era just ended, and the new era will likely lead to going backwards.
Minter is candid that the LGBTQ rights movement is not up for this yet, and offers some thoughts as to what needs to happen to address the new reality.
This segment is not pleasant to hear, but it is necessary.

Due to technical issues the automated system that schedules recorded programs for broadcast at WRUW is malfunctioning, so Gaywaves will not air or be archived at the station. Hence, the entire show is here.
This week's show features commentary on Karine Jean-Pierre's appointment as the new White House Press Secretary, and Log Cabin Republican president Charles Moran defending Florida's "Don't Say Gay" law.
It also features the latest on anti-LGBTQ book bans across the country, and Rep. Madison Cawthorn's apparent gay fascinations.
We also air the real time audio of police entering the bedroom of a 16 year old transgender girl to remove her from her home and place her in foster care because the state of Tennessee has become that hostile to trans youth doing nothing more than asserting their rights. (Trigger warning: This audio is disturbing.)
